Koochiching Economic Development Authority

Koochiching Community Development Association (KCDA)

Empowering Communities and Enhancing Quality of Life

The Koochiching Community Development Association (KCDA) was established to identify and champion opportunities that positively impact the economic landscape and quality of life for residents throughout Koochiching County. Our primary goal is to foster sustainable economic opportunity and community enhancement through strategic financial support.

The KCDA is a collaborative body comprised of representatives from our six incorporated communities—International Falls, Ranier, Big Falls, Littlefork, Mizpah, and Northome—alongside a representative from the Koochiching County Board. We meet bi-monthly at various locations across the county to review projects that move our region forward.

Eligibility: Who Can Apply?

We provide assistance to a broad range of entities dedicated to improving the North Country. To be eligible for KCDA funding, the project or organization must be located within or provide direct services to Koochiching County.

Eligible entities include:

  • For-profit businesses (Startups or Expansions)
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Governmental units

Project Application & Review Process

The KCDA utilizes a structured scoring system to evaluate the impact of each proposal.

  1. Submission: A formal application must be completed and submitted for review.
  2. Presentation: Applicants are typically invited to a regularly scheduled KCDA meeting to present their proposal or participate in an interview.
  3. Determination: Funding terms and amounts are granted at the discretion of the Association based on the project’s potential for community enhancement.
