BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT – RAINY LAKE VACATION CAMPGROUND
COMING SOOON to the area! A 32 acre RV campground with 30 full service sites in a protected canal with each site having their own dock slip. Public bathrooms, fish cleaning house, coin operated washer and dryer, and covered community area with pool table. Located on beautiful Rainy Lake!
Cole and Kari Hraban have worked in the resort business most of their lives. They both grew up in the area, Kari on Kabetogama and Cole on Ash River. They have three children Kali (6), Brielle (4), & Brody (1.5). Cole and Kari had a goal of starting a business that they could enjoy with their young kids. Cole’s parents own Ash Ka Nam and the kids love when they are at the resort but its very busy and hard to balance time with the kids while working. They decided they wanted to have an RV and campground because it is becoming a more popular way to vacation and spend time with family for an affordable price. Cole found a piece of property in a prime location adjacent to the Bowman public landing on Rainy Lake’s Sand Bay that they would be able to build full service sites along with all the amenities that vacationers are looking for. It took him a while before he convinced Kari to go look at it, once she did, she fell in love and could see themselves raising their family there along side of them as they ran the campground. Cole and Kari love spending time on the lake and outdoors and couldn’t think of a better fit for their family.
Rainy Lake Vacation Campground is also soon going to be a Reporting Offsite Arrival- Mobile (ROAM) check point for border crossing. The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) ROAM app is a free mobile application that provides an option for pleasure boaters to report their U.S. entry to CBP via their personal smart phone or a tablet located at local businesses to satisfy the above reporting requirements. In limited areas, travelers arriving remote areas may also be eligible to use the ROAM app.
Cole and Kari will be continuing to improve the grounds of the campground in 2019 and possibly build a gazebo. They have already started taking reservations. Keep updated on their progress by “liking” their Facebook Page.
